im using a free 3d edit program called blender. i have created a "silencer" shaped mesh and added a few details. now the problem i have is, how can i add this mesh to the mesh of the m4 or any other weapon? i cant open the bundled mesh b/c it is an incorrect file for the program. so do i need some type of converter or what do i need to do?

it saves it as a .blend. i tried to save it as .bundledmesh or w/e it is called. didnt work.
is there anyway to convert the bf2 mesh to a .blend file so that i can edit it in blender itself?
EDIT: okay, i just copied the m4 bubledmesh to my desktop and i renamed it so that it would be a .blend file. blender started up but wouldnt open the file. should i just give up using blender and just wait til i get a technical degree so tht i know how to use 3dsmax

you need the BF2 tools to export the model which are only available for max, maya, and gmax. gmax is free so thats your best option.

okay i dL gmax and i have played around with it and created some miscellaneous items. but the problem is, i cant open up the bundeledmesh files. i havent found a converter and there is no way that i can find that allows gmax to change the file to an editable file.
i have tried renaming the file so that it is supported by gmax but it still wont open. anyone know how to open it?

Not sure with gmax, but 3dsmax has the most support for bf2 modding. With the 3dsmax bf2 extended tools, or the POE2 max tools, you can easily import bundledmeshes - although this is frowned upon by Dice and you're not actually allowed to re-export dice meshes (for public consumption anyway.) But in my experience, it is an integral tool in learning how hierarchies and bundledmesh's work so it is an important learning tool for modders as well.
To get your silencer on an existing bf2 rifle, you would need to attach it into the mesh1 part of the 1p, 3p and lod models and re-export the bundledmesh, but as i said, this is against Dice rules so you wouldn't be allowed to release it unless you made your own rifle from scratch and made your own textures.
