First of all, Botinator doesn't want to work. I download, unzip, click "Botinator," and get some weird error.
So, I have to revert to BFSPC. I followed the steps multiple times, tried auto and manually packing the level, but I get the same crap every time. When I try to test the level (which now has the AI files in it, Battlefield Vietnam doesn't even load! Just shows the the title and then disappears. When I take out the level that has been modified, it works, so I know it's the level and not the program. What is going on? I really need help here, so help me out! Also, I have the newest version of BFV, 1.21 or something like that....

Yes, the symptoms you describe point to a bad level, usually caused by repacking wrong. If you could post your map somewhere and send me a link, I should be able to help you figure out where you are going wrong.

Ok, thanks. I'll post the level on my website, Battlecrafts ( www.freewebs.com/battlecrafts/ ).
But I have a question. How is it possible to pack something wrong? Is it a glitch in BFSPC or is there some complex way I don't know about. I did it most the time by using Battlefield Mod Development Tool Kit.

I uploaded it to fileplanet, but it hasn't appeared yet... When it does I tell you and it will be linked or you can go straight to fileplanet to get it.

Awesome map! This is by far the best indoor map for BFVietnam (even though its not finished).
The botinator only works on simpler outdoor maps, so don't even bother with it for this map. The bot paths will all have to be hand edited with ED42.
The map would also have to be changed to make certain areas more accessible for bots. The bots can go up ramps and stairs, but they can't jump.
The narrow plank bridges would also be a big problem for bots. Its too narrow for the bots. They would fall off all the time and then all your bots would be stuck at the bottom of the sewers.
Also, if you get a free filefront account and manage your uploads.

Thanks, it is pretty cool. I still have to add in a lot of objects like desks, chairs, ect, plus work out some other kinks, like obstacles and vegetation, but besides that this level really is awesome!
Though I am disappointed with the AI, this is really a better multi player map. Close-quarters combat was what I was shooting for, and I'm sure that's what I'll get. I hope it gets hosted online.
BTW I do have some maps (with no "underground" sections) that you can help me add single player, but first I need to get this one out!

Mesa would be awesome to get working with bots. With some extra ramps, walkways and bridges and careful pathmapping, it would be possible for bot support. It would make a good port to POE as well. For single player, you also want CPs in the underground area for good bot action. Let me know when you finish it up.

I uploaded the final version. Added a lot of stuff in and worked out the kinks

. I have not, however, put in bridges; I am still contemplating on whether or not and I should add bots. WinRFA won't pack my levels right, I have no experience with manual path mapping, and botinator doesn't work. I have other levels I'm going to put single player on for sure, but this one... it looks like an awful lot of work. If you can figure out a way to map the pathways for it, I'll add in bridges and EVERYTHING that is necessary. I've always noticed that the bots don't like to go into buildings, and that's what my whole level practically is! Maybe there's a way...

Hey, BTW your forums here are amazing. I used to post on Planet Battlefield for BFV, but from the looks of things its pretty much dead. Battlefield 2 steals away the spotlight from BF1942 and Vietnam, especially on that site. It's nice to know BFS hasn't given up on them yet! I don't even play BF2. I would if it ran better on my pc, but I wouldn't completely forget about the other games!

http://www.x-hunter.nu/bfspc/index.phpThis is a link to the Battlefield Singleplayer Creator. You can't use it to add bots to your indoor map, but it does have a built-in packing tool. I use it instead of WinRFA since it's so simple. You can also try a program called MakeRFA.

My favorite BFV mod was POE, and I still enjoy converting and playing sp maps with it.
I have been able to get bots to use indoor maps very well. Its a lot of work because it all has to be pathed by hand. The trick is to remember that bots will always take prefer to take the wider path, so you have to restrict the bots path options to the the buildings if you want them to use it and remember that the bots need a reason to go into the building (the CP). The strategic area can't be so big that the bots don't have to enter the building to capture the flag.
Also, for BFV and mods, DICE changed all the objects to 64 bit sized models, which will crash ED42. Cajun Wolf and I converted all the BFV objects so they can be used with ED42 for pathmapping. The link is in the tools section.
I can pathmap it if you can add whatever is needed to allow the bots to move around without having to jump, since they can't in BFV.

"My favorite BFV mod was POE, and I still enjoy converting and playing sp maps with it."
I downloaded that mod and boy, you are right! POE makes single-player for BFV actually fun! I wish the real game has as good of weapon sounds as POE...
However, some of my POE maps won't work for some reason, and I'm not sure why. They show up in the menu, but while loading (near the end) the game will crash on those particular maps. Any idea what's wrong?
