i have gotten botinator to work in battlefield vietnam. After this,i decided to try a mod for battlefield 1942.I go to bot wizard, add the basic bots and dont do the steps on pathmaps (i want to take it one thing at a time).I repack my level into the mod.It doesnt work. Why not?

There are many reasons why a map might not work after using the botinator. Some of the most common problems are bad/missing vehicle AI or bad/missing pathmaps. Using the debugger can really help locate the problem.

What map/mod are you working on?

im doing castle hill on the siege mod.Its an older mod,it isnt played that much anymore so ive decided to make some good coop.It has been done before, but it isnt a good level.Really quick,im not exactly smart, how do you run the debugger.
Regrind
i installed and tried to run it.Nothing different happened

does Siege even have SP/coop support? is there AI set up for each weapon and vehicle?
Regrind
now that i think about it no.Is it possible to get it without too much trouble?
Regrind
case closed.i changed a bit up in the mod and slipped in coop. Thanks to the guys who made modding programs and stuff.Topic can be closed

I posted a Siege_SP mod that added AI to Agincourt. I would be interested in seeing your AI for Castle Hill.

Bots just don't do well at hand to hand combat.
Regrind
I can agree.although it is interesting, except that the bots take the rams and clog out the bridge, that isnt good.Im probaly gonna do the other 3 levels.

the only vehicle that I test Ai on was the horse. Its fun for a laugh with bots.

If the team had tried to make the mod more fun and less realistic, with a little imagination and tapping into fantasy combat game ideas they could have made the mod a blast to play. Every class needs a good ranged weapon in any bf42 mod. Hand to hand combat should only be the last resort.

Bows and crossbows should fire further and straighter.

Some other good ranged weapons: Throwing dagger, throwing axe, or a spear, or even a thrown rock.

Could have a cleric class that fires a lighting ball and can heal. A monk class that throws shruikens and uses a silent blow dart gun would be good.
