Full Version: Problem with PR holographic/red dot sights

Well I managed to succesfully port the PR weapons to bf2 and everything works fine except for one thing: the reticle of the holographic/red dot sights doesn't show up in the game sad.gif

In my try of resolving this issue I searched for the .con files of the sights/reticles in the the menu_server and I found the problem: is that I didn't passed the .tga files that the game uses to load the reticle(for example eotechAimPoint.tga), I searched for the .tga in the menu_client and for my surprise...I couldn't find them ph34r.gif for example: the route for the eotech's .tga it's "Ingame\CrossHair\eotechAimPoint.tga" but when I got there the only thing I found was the "AcogArrow.tga"....and that's it....there is nothing else in that folder...

So I though that maybe there was some special/weird way that PR loads this .tga files, but when I replaced the "eotechAimPoint.tga" for "AimPoint.tga" in the eotech.con, the default aimpoint reticle used in bf2 m4/aksu appeared in the eotech and with this I guess the special/weird theory is discarded...

Anyway, I searched AAALLLL the PR folders/rars for this .tga files and they are nowhere to be found, and the question is: what am I missing?? am I doing something wrong?? is there any special way to find them??

If I am not doing anything wrong and I'm just an special case xD then can someone else be kind enough to upload this .tga files for me? laugh.gif they are supposed to be in "menu_client.zip\HUD\Texture\Ingame\Crosshair"

Hi, i encountered the same problem. Pr does use a special way to load menu files, they use altas files.

To fix this problem i just used the eotech crosshair from the alpha project from jones bigthumb.gif

You're right....EVERYTHING it's in there drool.gif I'll see if I can make it work somehow or another...

And if I can't, I'll just use your awesome idea xD

OK i'll start to explain how to do it(it's not that hard)

1° You need to pass the "atlas" folder from the PR "menu_client" into your mod's "menu_client", if it doesn't have a "menu client"(like my case) put it in the "menu_client" from bf2

2° Your going to need this file "PR_MemeAtlas.tai"(it's in the PR menu_server), you can copy it in somewhere or you can just leave it open from the rar view, you will need it later

3° Go to your mod's menu_server and look for this file "MemeAtlas.tai", extract it somewhere and make a backup just in case

4° First than nothing you need to know the name of the .tga you want to pass, let's go with the one from the eotech(eotechAimPoint.tga)

5° Once you have the name look for it in the "PR_MemeAtlas.tai"(open it with notepad++ or other similar program) and once you found it copy the entire line like this one:

Menu/HUD/Texture/Ingame/Crosshair/eotechAimPoint.tga Menu\Atlas\MemeAtlas_0.dds, 0, 0.731445, 0.924316, 0.0244141, 0.0244141(don't worry about the empty space, it has to be like that)

6° Paste the entire line you copied at the end of your "MemeAtlas.tai", save it and then put it again in your "menu_server"

7° ?????

8° PROFIT!! xD

Note: when I was inside the game testing the eotech I noted that the grenade had the icon from PR, so aparently this method also works for the icons....OHHHH YEAH laugh.gif
