been doing a lot of coop lately, and having a hard time adding more then 62 bots to a match, for some reason even with the bot changer, the bot numbers stay the same, am i doing something wrong? dont really understand how the bot ratio works, if anyone would like to explain that? hehe

Also, whenever i get a friend to join my matches, his name never appears ontop of his character when we're moving aorund the map, which has caused some issues with shooting eachother haha!! because we cannot identify with the blue name when you movet he crossair over them, no player names appear at all, only the bot names do, is anyone else having this issue? or know a way on how to fix it? its difficult to play as a coop actually without knowing who or where we both are unless we are using mics...

if u use the demo.recordDemo in the console, do you have to manually enter this sv.demoQuality 3 if you want the quality to be set to 3 everytime you record a demo, or does it remember the quality untill you exit the game? coz thats a lot of typing in the console to set the quality, record, and then stop recording for console commands, even tho i've found a way that automated this, i was just curious on this....

Edit : found how the bot ratio works via the sticky, im an idiot. Its explained here for anyone interested and missed it in the sticky

It's a limitation of the BF2 engine. If you have over 64 players/bots in a game, some of the players/bots will not have a nametag visible. Like say if you have 64 bots and you, then one individual out of the group isn't going to have a nametag.

The game engine will only render 64 different player names ingame, no more.

Now im having some team balacing issues at the moment, using the coop. I've added 102 bots, but the MEC side no matter what i change, always only start with 48 bots while the US starts with 54 bots, what option do i need to change to get the teams dead even 50/50 split with the bots?

This only happens when i start a local game, in singleplayer they are 50/50 ratio.

im assuming u r making a coop game, in which you will need to change the "bot ratio" slider, up to 100%, that will even out the teams, iirc

here is a useful guide by the team at AIX http://www.aixtended.com/faqV3.html

thx for the reply but yes for coop mode...... yeah i know about the slider...he AIX guide helped quite a bit over the weekend actually, the problem im facing is that i've got the serversettings.con file in the my documents folder as "read only" so i could automate the battlerecorder settings, so the sliders in game dont work, or doesn't change anything because of this one file.

I was wondering if there was a line on the serversettings.con file that related to that... i think i've changed that the line that did, but didn't affect the bot ratio what so ever.

sv.teamRatioPercent 100
sv.coopBotRatio 100
sv.coopBotCount 51
sv.coopBotDifficulty 50

is what my current ServerSettings.con file is set as

I've currently been staggering the bot counts to more on the opposing team and less on the humans & bots team. Playing with sv.teamRatioPercent has yielded good results for me. Takes a bit of going in and out of a game to get that perfect mix of teams. smile.gif

thanks for the tip i'll try the reamRatioPercent, see if i can figure that part out...

remember that the teams start even, then as guys die they are moved onto the larger team.
