According to the PoE website, they are stopping work on PoE2 for BF2 and continuing work on PoE for BFV.
Any news on this?
The only thing I would say that needed vast improvement was the random crashing, the lagginess, and the compatibility. I dont know if its just me, but when I installed it last time, it muted all the menu screen's music.
A little off topic, but whenever i try to switch to a custom game, the "please insert a BFV disc" screen pops up. Is this because im running the program on Vista 64 bit?
I got all the sounds in game along with the music to work by running the game with compatibility with 98/ME.
-Thanks

Whaaa! They are starting work on the BFV version? This I didn't expect....Perhaps they'll redo the sound effects. Mostly the engine sound being too loud is the problem I have with that mod....(or anything in BFV for that matter)

Yup. Looks like that's right.
QUOTE (PoE2 Moddb site Apr 16th update)
We are feeling a little nostalgic and decided that it might be time to revisit PoE1. We are working on an updated final release of our epic modification for Battlefield Vietnam. We encourage you to dust off those old disks and find your serial numbers, or in the extreme go out and spend $10 and pick up a new copy! This release will have greatly improved COOP as well as fixing some long lost bugs. We'd like to thank Dnarmo and Legion for their outstanding work in adding bot support to PoE1!
Source.Doesn't look like it will go beyond just updating and wrapping up PoE1. Still cool that they would do that, and even adding improved COOP to it is outstanding, especially for our crowd. Kudos to the guys for this.

The the update will have some bug fixes, but the main thing will be coop and single player support. The team has integrated the AI from my POE_SP mini-mod and added some extra maps - some never released dev maps and some fan created maps. The team has also fixed some vehicle AI bugs, so that all vehicles work with the bots.

Ahh I see, Like a face lift operation. Nothing new in terms of content. Mostly a renovation of the mod to make it work better and such.

Still a cool little thing for them to do, to ensure the posterity of the mod for future generations. Bot supported games are forever.

This new version of the original PoE is incredible, almost like the missing link between Desert Combat & BF2.
For anyone who hasn't BFVietnam I'd recommend get it just to try this mod, if you like bf2 you'll like this.

I played the old version before and didn't like it much. (Probably due to BFV not playing nice with my sound card...)
Is this new version a big difference from the last? I'm downloading it now anyway and will try it out.

To Knuckle...I mean Bucklehead,
I hope this revised one will be worth its weight. I played the older version and had a nice time with different maps - but I seem to have trouble with some of the vehicles. They don't have textures in them!?? I shall definitely (hopefully) try this revised PoE seeing that I just re-formatted my HD and am in the process of re-installing most of the games I have, this one (BFV) being one of them. (Sigh) I still do not have BF2. BF2142 is waiting to exhale (in storage) waiting for a newer, better system.
