Lots of great statics there. Wish this would happen too, though I think it's very unlikely at this point. Any ported statics would also need to have AI meshes made so bots could use them too.

The desert map buildings where great too.

I tried to export the church from myself but my knowledge of 3ds max is very terrible.

About the future of bf2 to me is wonderful! So far no one game in multiplayer is simple, deep and smooth on every PC a lot fo people back to this jewel after Revive Project is running

a repository for the mappers with assets ready to use categorized (building, vegitation ect) would be very useful

maybe a Mega account 50 gb are more than suffice with a little blog like a frontend... i will think about that

Yeah I was about to say. I spoke with the guys with the Forgotten Hope Community Map pack and they actually ported over lots of great content from 1942. They said we could use it in BFK as it comes from 1942 anyway, so I don't know that there is any issues they would have against others using them in their maps.

I was hoping some of the original 1942 maps could be remade 1.1 for vanilla BF2 with only those assets.

If you download the CMP, you need to look in the levels/cmpminimod folder. Then you can grab the EOD and WAW folders in the statics. The only EOD stuff they have in there also was ported over BF42 pacific houses.

Although, not everything inside the WAW folder is from BF42, as they have their own stuff in there too. So you might need to prune those files just to be safe.

But they have lots of stuff like the aircraft carriers, the destroyable warehouses, the vehicle repair pads and much more.

Would be awesome if there was some sort of "BF1942 Static Pack" available for BF2 mappers, would help encourage use and benefit everyone in the community.

I might release it then. Last night I ported over the rest of the assets, so some things I had to rename the texture location to get them to work.

My plate is kind of full right now but I might try to upload them. It is a lot of assets to check though to make sure all the textures are included as some statics use generic textures placed in various locations of FH2.

Edit: Screw it it didn't take me long to do so I just did it. There is a common/textures folder I had to add which things had some dependencies on, but all the stuff should be here.

The EOD BF42 ported Pacific Houses are in the Client/StaticObjects/Buildings folder. The rest of the 1942 stuff is in the WAW folder. Many can be found in the 1942_ports folder in WAW.

Maybe this can get a sticky?

Enjoy.

It just became more than that. It became a tool resource for many. Moving to mapping tools and tutorials and stickying! happy.gif Thanks Anthony!

Anyone know if all these statics offer navmeshes for BF2 bots? If not, they'd still be great decorating statics for BF2 mapping.

Awesome! Thanks Chief! biggrin.gif

Edit: Not sure if they are setup for AI mesh. I had another friend ask me this, but my specialty doesn't lie in that area.

The BOB level destroyable warehouses would be absolutely amazing to set up in a level and have aircraft bomb it.

I spoke with the IDF mod and discussed how we could have it as an objective to be destroyed with strategic bombers. We plan to have a B-29 Superfortress eventually in BFK, and IDF is working on a TU-16, so it could definitely be put to some good use I think.

I can't remember for sure if the WAW guys had any singleplayer maps made with these assets, but at least they are made more easily accessible for others to try an looking into fixing them for singleplayer.

BFK is a 100% singleplayer mod right now, so it would help to have these all looked over to see if anything must be done. We do want some nice new maps created with these great assets.

Very nice selection, especially the carriers.

I took a look a several different collision meshes. I did not see any AImeshes. For the enclosed objects, it would be easy enough to take a col2 to fix up for an AImesh. The ones with internal areas will need a some more work. I will see what i can do.

Awesome thanks Dnamro! I really liked how BF42 buildings had a lot more interiors it seems compared to in BF2. It would be nice to see how they could be done to work with AI.

By the way, I didn't see it when I made the pack but did you come across that Church static with the awesome interior? That was one of the coolest buildings to go inside as it had a really nice sniping spot on a balcony.

Awesome Dnamro! These should hopefully come in handy with the new Battlefield 1943 1.1 recreation mod I am working on. We are currently trying to bring the PSN/XBLA exclusive game over to PC, in the BF2 engine. So if anybody here would like to help edit the current 1942 recreated pacific maps , please contact me.

I have not tested them, so let me know if there are any issues with them.
