Hey guys, as I'm working on BF2142 retexture project, HD textures use sightly more RAM. 4K textures are overkill for this old game and now I'm facing with constant crash while loading 4th or 5th map in a row (here RAM useage exceeds limit). Ty god there's no mid game crash at least.

To increase stability again I need to reduce some most RAM unfriendly textures (and it really worked), but maybe there's any other way to make exe to work with giant textures? As I tested, game is capable to run 8K textures on 100 FPS (used GTX1060 6GB GPU), but it doesn't work in a long run/loading more levels and it keep crashing then load textures/crash then disconnect. If there could be way to force game exe to use... let's say 4/6/8GB ram it would be amazing. I would rework effects/4K terrain/more statics.

8K texture example (Tested on suez, retextured canal static):

There's some 64bit exe patch tools I've seen used on Fallout 3

http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php

Might work for 2142

I've tested it, but unfortunately it doesn't work. Exe keeps crashing now. I'll take a look for different tools or way to set ram useage manualy.
