Hey, I've been messing around with BF2142 retexturing work a bit but I faced with crashing just after I join game. I'm not sure but saving textures in DDS format (DXT1 or DXT5) and followed this great tut http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f189-moddi...-explained.html

To tell more details, I was working with static object textures only.

I've always found that following the example set by the original game files is always the best bet.

Pull out the original texture (unaltered) from the game files and examine it with windows texture viewer. The file save settings will be indicated in the bottom of the WTV box.

EDIT:

Browsing that link you provided I see things recommended that I've never done, but never had a problem ingame. Such as...

QUOTE
Weapon selection icon
Format without atlas: 32-bit TGA, flip image vertically, rename to DDS

I just followed the tuts provided here for icons, which is exporting in 32bit RGB8 with no mip maps.

Maybe it's a dedicated server thing? Or requirements for maybe older versions of BF2? uhm.gif

I've always used http://www.mwgfx.co.uk/programs/dxtbmp.htm since I first saw it in one of clives tutorials and never had issues editing textures and exporting them as dds DXT5 and running them in 2142
