Hi guys,

The purpose of this thread is to provide some informal updates of stuff that I have been busy with. To check out the official mod page, then click on this link: Moddb.com

So, to start things off in a proper way, check out the newest animations for the mod here. Please take into account that these animations are a fraction of what I have, and from time to time I will add more videos to show them off. The sounds will also be changed/remastered a bit, so the sounds here are not final.

Animation Reveal #1
Animation Reveal #2
Animation Reveal #3
Animation Reveal #4

Please pop in here every now and then to get an update. smile.gif

* All animations shown here are made by Develop013 specifically for this mod.
* All content shown here is subject to change.

Are the system requirements for BF2 UA the same as those of vanilla bf2?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I'd lie if I said yes, because the mod will push the game's engine to the near max. Not so much that there will be performance issues, but very close. With the HD lightmaps the game might lag on lower end systems.

Always good to see BF2 getting an update! Hard to believe the game is over 10 years old.

Looking forward to your work obscure! I may get out of a no modding rut this fall winter since its cold and wet and I need a new hobby (if it is an old one).

Well, if you want to help out Bob, then there will always be something that you are more experienced in than me. Especially with mesh hacking. I am only starting to master the skill now, but I guess that is an overstatement since I still struggle with the basics lol. biggrin.gif

Anyway, thanks to Bob's help, here is another update with two more LMG's! Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yg8LqBSMac...eature=youtu.be

Wow! I'm on a low end system atm so I guess it'll be a while until I get to be able to try it out, but the guns look AWESOME! Frankly I've never seen anything like it yet, this might well be the best game I'll be playing yet.

Btw I have no modding experience as of now, apart from making minor tweaks etc., but if there is any help you require, do ask!

Also which factions are there? Have you thought about covering the Indo-Pak conflicts? I know Hindi so I can help with the voiceover if needed.... Just asking merely, If its not a part of the plan then don't take the trouble..

Well, I can't really speak to the performance on lower end systems. You will have to wait and see, and plus, since this mod will take at least a year more before release, by that time you will have something better already. tongue.gif

Thanks for offering assistance, but at the moment I only need a mesh hacker that can do more advanced stuff that I can't do in max. *I hope he gets the hint* wink.gif

As for new factions, for now nothing new. The main priority of my mod is to fix the game and to update the gameplay and visuals, especially first person gameplay. Not really to add new factions. I am planning to add a Chinese special forces faction, and then the idea of a full-blown Russian faction has been going back and forth in my mind. smile.gif

Well, that is true. It is your mod after all, so your choice how you go with it!

However as it is a standalone game, will it also be as moddable as Bf2?

This is basically the next thing, since you can't get bf2 ( without pirating) I guess it would be nice to have this moddable as well, provided it is of no offence to you...

Anyways how does one go about creating a mod team? Does it require money, and does it require any qualifications?

Thank you a lot for your patience in answering so many impertinent questions!

Good to know Chief! Here is another surprise: Animation Reveal #3

Enjoy! And please take note at the HDR effects that I use in the mod. I wasn't standing on the sand dunes for nothing. smile.gif

The effect is basically a modified night vision code that I managed to hack into day maps. It took some doing, that I can tell you, but at the end of the day, it was well worth it. I can customise this feature for each map specifically, so that gives me greater control of this effect. You guys should see this HDR in the same screenshots with the HD lightmaps, but yeah, that will be a while before I will do a reveal like that!

I know right. biggrin.gif

There are so much more animations that I have that nobody knows about. xD

Lets make things interesting. I will make a list below of all the animations that I have that haven't been shown yet, and if you guys can vote for 3 of them, then I will specifically make a video for them that I will release on Sunday. The first person to mention 3 gun names will get to choose. So, here they are:

- AN94
- Type 95 LMG
- QSZ92
- Type85
- Norinco 982
- Striker 12 Protecta
- Type 88 DMR
- Glock17
- Famas
- FNFAL
- HK21
- HK53A3
- SA80
- SA80 GL
- Benelli M4
- L96A1
- M79 GL
- LSAT
- MG3
- Scorpion
- Crossbow
- A91
- AK101
- AK101 GL
- Dragunov
- GP25/GP30
- SKS
- SV98
- G36E
- G36K
- MG36
- Teargas
- VSS Vintorez
- 357 Magnum
- G3A3
- ACR
- M98B
- SCARH
- MP5
- M95
- M82A1
- CR21 Vektor
- ERYX
- SRAW
- M24

And yes, that is no joke. I have all of those reanimated from scratch. More will be added to the list as Develop013 finishes with his work. He will also do some 3p animations for the sake of consistency. smile.gif
