Hello,

I am testing SPX for a future lan party with friends and i am impressed, they are doing a great job tongue.gif

The only sad thing is that the aim precision is too perfect, is there any way to reduce that ?

On a plane or helicopter, it is impossible to live since we are getting shooted so fast by anything.

Thanks a lot.

Read this here about co-op. http://web.archive.org/web/20131113164708/....com/faqV3.html

Just adjust the Bot Difficulty slideR to a lower number. If you're not playing co-op then you have to adjust the SP settings (aisettings.setbotskill 0.7)

I agree with Bubbles. Easiest way is to just reduce the difficulty, which if I remember correctly, reduces bot reaction time and accuracy. If you are manually editing the Bot AI difficulty with notepad, the scale is from 0.1 to 1.0 (1.0 being hardest).

if you want to adjust how bots handle individual weapons, each weapon should have an entry in ai/Weapons.ai which specifies the different deviations each weapon uses, e.g. Hind pilot's gun ai:

rem * Pilot's Guns*
weaponTemplate.create AIX_Mi24_PilotGun
rem WeaponTemplate.WeaponFire PIFire
WeaponTemplate.WeaponActivate PINone
weaponTemplate.indirect 0
weaponTemplate.minRange 5.0
weaponTemplate.maxRange 400.0
weaponTemplate.setStrength Infantry 45.0
weaponTemplate.setStrength LightArmour 31.0
weaponTemplate.setStrength HeavyArmour 20.0
weaponTemplate.setStrength NavalArmour 0.0
weaponTemplate.setStrength Helicopter 40.0
weaponTemplate.setStrength AirPlane 35.0

weaponTemplate.allowedDeviation 25.0
weaponTemplate.deviationCorrectionTime 1.0
weaponTemplate.deviation 2.0

weaponTemplate.fireRate 1800

allowedDeviation: how accurate the weapon is when the bot first starts firing.
deviation: how accurate the weapon is after it has been aimed and corrected over time, see below
deviationCorrectionTime: how long it takes for the accuracy to change from AllowedDeviation to Deviation

in the above example, the Hind gunner would initially fire quite wide with a value of 25.0 but 1 second later his fire stream would have narrowed to 2.0, which is very accurate (with 1.0 being pinpoint accuracy)

I'll add a link to the "List of Important Modding Threads."

I've been using this for years, as I learned it while studying the AIX 2.0 AI code for their sniper rifles. It's what made AI snipers lethal. nod.gif
