Hello, I'm new in this forum.

I have custom sound for M2HB weapon. They both has same format.
It has 44.1 Khz and 16 bit wav.

The 1P Sound is working, but 3P sound not working. What's wrong with it?
I put the sound as attachment
Attached File  Desktop.zip ( 581.71K ) Number of downloads: 16

Thanks

For one thing your 3rd person sounds are in the wrong format. You should look at the 3rd person sounds of other weapons and compare to see what the game uses. You can see this by dragging the sound file to your desktop, right click, click Properties, then click Summary. For reference...

1st person sounds use 1411 kbps 16bit 44 kHz and should be in Stereo (2 channels).

3rd person sounds use 352 kbps 16bit 22 kHz and should be in Mono.

If you're not hearing anything then your sound file is probably set up wrong in your tweak file. Make sure the header name of the paragraph of code for each sound matches the rest of the tweak and that the file path for the sound is written correctly.

Example: This is for a weapon I have that the title of it's TWEAK is....

ObjectTemplate.activeSafe GenericFireArm usrif_m4a3

Note how I highlighted in red the name of the weapon from it's TWEAK file... then see below on sounds from that same TWEAK file...

ObjectTemplate.activeSafe Sound S_usrif_m4a3_Fire3P <----- Note the name of this batch of code
ObjectTemplate.modifiedByUser jsa
ObjectTemplate.soundFilename "objects/weapons/handheld/usrif_m4a3/Sounds/m4a3_3p.wav" <----- Note and check the file path
ObjectTemplate.loopCount 0
ObjectTemplate.is3dSound 1
ObjectTemplate.stopType 1
ObjectTemplate.volume 1
ObjectTemplate.pitch 1
ObjectTemplate.reverbLevel 1
ObjectTemplate.pitchEnvelope 0/1/0.9/1.1/1/1/0/0.96/1.05/
ObjectTemplate.volumeEnvelope 0/1/0/1/1/1/0/0.9/1/
ObjectTemplate.minDistance 1
ObjectTemplate.halfVolumeDistance 15
ObjectTemplate.soundRadius 0.5

Easiest and smartest way to fix something? Compare it to something that works and look for differences between the two. wink.gif

QUOTE (MasterChiefRulZ @ Apr 2 2016, 12:16 PM) *

CODE
General
   General
Complete name                  : C:\Users\adi3m\Desktop\m2hb_fire_33p.wav
Format                         : Wave
File size                      : 257 KiB
Duration                       : 1s 492ms
Overall bit rate mode          : Constant
Overall bit rate               : 1 412 Kbps

Audio
Format                         : PCM
Format settings, Endianness    : Little
Format settings, Sign          : Signed
Codec ID                       : 1
Duration                       : 1s 492ms
Bit rate mode                  : Constant
Bit rate                       : 1 411.2 Kbps
Channel(s)                     : 2 channels
Sampling rate                  : 44.1 KHz
Bit depth                      : 16 bits
Stream size                    : 257 KiB (100%)

So there's my 3p format that i got from Media Player Classic.
It was working fine using that format. IDK. Even my other 3p sound using that format.
Right now i'm using the 3P from the original BF2. And it's working. Very confusing drool.gif

Had someone ask me about creating custom Weapon Sounds. Here's a quick and dirty tutorial that guides through the process using Audacity and Bergerkillers BF2 sound tools.
