I've been changing around the sounds for some weapons in Bf2 but, when firing fully automatic, the weapon sounds only shoot once and then there are no more sounds after. Firing on semi-auto works fine, every shot the sound plays. Its quite annoying actually...

You need to add loops to the sound, using a program such as sony vegas

In my experience only Sony Vegas works to mark them loops.

Loops are called 'regions' in Sony Sound Forge ( and probably in Vegas, whatever that is tongue.gif ) Mark the desired sound range by click-dragging over the sound and select 'Add region' from the menu.
Note that the loop needs to be shorter than the desired RoF. E.g. a RoF of 600 rounds/min are 10 shots per second resulting in a maximum length of 0.1 seconds ( 100mSeconds) for the loop . If your loop is longer then it will stutter or play only once per two shots or so.

Export the sound as Microsoft WAV with a sample rate of 22kHz , do not use Scott WAV as it will not play. 1P sounds are stereo, 3P sounds are mono.

It goes without saying that CoolEdit's effect section is superior to what most other programs offer ( in fact i used it for our radio voices with the B3 distortion and some tinkering ) but i never was able to make its sound loops work in BF2. Instead i had to use a two-staged workflow with CoolEdit for effects and then Sound Forge for the looping. My CoolEdit was version 2.1, though and perhaps they fixed that or at least made it more compatible with BF2 sounds in a later version.

BF2 sound tools work great as well. Just a couple of clicks of the mouse, punch in your desired rate of fire for the sound, and save.
