OK, I got my templates stable. No CTD ! At least, I don't get one. But I need help with testing. I've used the grenade in game and it seems to work but I have not confirmed this. Doesn't bf2 have a mode that shows visually the ai target ray tracing ?

Add the attached templates and collisionmesh to objects_weapons_server.zip/Weapons/Handheld/AN_M8_Smokegrenade

Keep the collision mesh in it's own directory. The grenade is the German hand thrown smoke grenade.

The screen works by spawning a transparent collision mesh (a sphere) that blocks the bot targeting. This is a beta and therefore there are more tweaks to do before final release, and at the moment it may not be of any use for actual game play.

PLEASE NOTE PERMISSIONS IN README.TXT AS N@W KINDLY GAVE PERMISSION TO USE THEIR GRENADE AS THE BASIS FOR THIS. CHEERS.

Satnav released a smoke fix years ago against bots, it was included in the BFSP64 mod before Sat pulled rights to his content, so it's still in there in case this doesn't work (at least last I checked).

I use smoke grenades all the time against bots in BFSP64, great tactical tool. smile.gif Recently ported the smoke grenade into my personal AIX mod as well.

We wouldn't be allowed to host a standalone reupload of Sat's smoke grenade fix per his wishes, so I can't just post it.

Does BF2 have a bot vision mode ? I know that in 42 you can visually show the AI raytracing to target. It would be nice to see the screen in operation without guessing what the bots are up to. I'd like to tweak it specially for FH2 as well.
