We usually play this way, that one of us opens under "Multiplayer" a "Lan Server erstellen" and the others log into it (via I-Net) using the IP of the PC who is the server.

Then obviously the one who is starting the Lan Server via Multiplayer is basically running a bf2server. And yes he should apply the hotfix.

People who just play SP (singleplayer) do not need it (because jets are fine in SP and you simply avoid using the mortar in SP) - but sure everyone can use that hotfix.

after i patched and put in the hotfix © my aix maps are all 16 size in bf2cc now?,anyone else have this

You have for sure updated modmanager-scripts to 2.0. You have to use a edited version of modmanager-scripts .
http://www.tigercage.de/downloads/AIXS_modmanager-v2.0a.zip

I have done this on our server and still am only getting 16 player maps.
I copied the "admin" and "mods" folder into the base directory of the server and overwrote the old files, still doesn't work.
Any ideas?

Have you stopped BF2Server and BF2CCD.exe once you updated modmanager-scripts?
Are you sure you uploaded all files, you had the correct permissions to overwrite existing files and you have overwritten them?
Is it a Linuxserver and you re-assigned the correct user ( chown -R USERNAME * ) to the new files after installing?
Are you running custommaps or just AIX2 Coremaps?
Are you sure all files are in correct location?

I looked into several servers the past days - all said they did it correctly. Once i did it - the servers worked with 64 mapsize.

So what is the word?

Is the fix final?

----------------------------------------
Disregard, I found a thread with English in at the TNG forums.
---------------------------
Just for discussion sakes, what is your "gut" feeling about this working for TNG also, or should I go check with them to see if any of them used this?

it's final until a decision is made either way about a proper solution, i.e. a client-side patch, and what would be contained in that patch if it were to be made.

as for TNG, they are a completely separate entity to AIX and have their own rule set - but as far as i know they already have an update to solve the 1.5 problem, either in the works or already available. find out HERE.

Thanks Clive.

The guys @ =TAW= have installed the AIX2.0 on their server and they say they have been fine.
I also did find my answer on the TNG.

I am torn weather to update OUR severs or just leave as is.

In this day and age people should have enough room on their HDD for both a 1.41 AND 1.5 folder.
My 1.41 was only 13gigs and that is with numerous added maps & mods.

Really? Mine is 82 gigs. I wonder how that happened.

my BF2 folder is "only" 20 GB / 80GB, lol.. If I had enough space, I'd probably have a BF2 folder of at least 100GB. Mods & Custom maps FTW!!

This is what I did to get the 64 player
maps to work on my 16 slot server.

1. /mods/aix2/mods/bf2/settings

paste modmanager.con here

2. /mods/aix2/mods/bf2/settings/maplist.con

change all maps listed to 64

3. /mods/aix2/python/game/

paste modmanager.con here also

4. /mods/aix2/python/game/

paste objtweaker.pyc and _int_.py here
