I have a problem that is driving me crazy, in that I can find no logical reason for it.

Here's the situation:

I am working with a stationary machine gun. It has several variants, all of which live in the same folder. This folder has a single \AI subfolder with weapon templates for all variants included in a single 'weapons.ai' file.

No problem so far, all templates work. Now then, I added a new weapon template at the bottom of the file. This brings the file contents up to 4 weapon templates.

The problem is that bots will not fire the weapon at all when I assign my new AI template name to it. The bots will fire the gun if I assign the first template in the file, even though the contents of the templates are identical

I have triple checked my spelling and the code. Everything seems to be in apple-pie order. Yet apparently it isn't. Can anyone help?

AItemplates are case sensitive, so check that.

Sometimes, the AI just doesn't like an AItemplate name - try renaming. Experienced this since BF1942. Have not found a rhyme or reason yet.

Thanks for the reply Dnamro.

I know about case sensitivity, so that wasn't it. After reading your reply I did try a few different names for my AI template; none of these worked. I am still as confused as ever.

It seems as if all templates in the file should work, or else none of them should. That is not the case here however.
