Hello

Well after much time and effort finally have a set of working Nightvision and Thermals that actually work correctly on a dedicated server with sequential daytime/nighttime maps in rotation.

Everything should be in order one would suggest going through each folder and importing the files individually.

This is 99% complete with added insanity. The last 1% is basically the dynamic shadows using the night vision. Managed to activate the shadows but the alpha is low and needs editing. Example dynamic shadows render correctly on vehicles but unfortunately the dynamic shadow on the terrain is too low.

I hope this helps anyone in the Epic BFSP community as this forum is legendary and hopefully maybe someone may have the answer the last 1%...

I guess you have ran Battlefield in windowed mode for any errors or have you ran a full debug?

There never was an icon in the selection menu for NightVision I believe so.

If you already have nightvision working in your mod for quote donkeys years' then why are you here? Oh I remember you had the static light terrain bug like everyone else. Now you don't.

As I say everything should be in order like I said. Follow the instructions in the readme. I don't understand what is your problem you say everythings running ok apart from an icon? Well add the bloody icon then in the nightvision config then.

End of the day no one else has fixed this issue with dedicated server rotation with all due respect. So load up a dedicated server with daytime/nighttime maps and have some fun with working NV. Sorry I don't use TeamSpeak, sounds like your set to me.

I get a CTD on start up with the error saying;"ItemSlot7 doesn't exist", in menu/HUD/hudsetup/basic/HudElementWeaponSelect.con!?. I've got basic bf2 modding knowledge but have never encountered this sort of error before, do you have any idea on how to fix it? bigthumb.gif

Check soldier inventory slots it should be 9.

Was also waiting for anyone with some info on this dynamic shadow bug? Someone needs to add this 1% its so close now. Much work gone into this. Any info is greatly appreciated.

You need to add them to your maps server zip file to make the NV work. I assume you have night maps? Look at a night map from the SF pack and follow the same idea.

Thanks for helping out Bubbles much appreciated.

Still haven't figured out the dynamic shadow bug. Had to settle with Medium' dynamic shadows to fix the issue.

Badsanta has some cascade shadow mod in the works we can only pray.
