First Strike v1.6 Changelog:


Weapons:
- Further enhanced AI tweaks for turbolasers
- Further enhanced AI tweaks for anti-starfighter turrets
- Turbolaser and Ion Cannon Weapons Platform Satellites added


Vehicles:
- Further enhanced AI tweaks for all starfighters
- AI support added to capital ships to enhance co-op space map experience
- Space map versions of Lambda Shuttle and Sentinel Lander added with enhanced armour and shielding for space combat
- Carrier version of the Carrack class Light Cruiser added with TIE Rack launcher capability


New Multiplayer Maps added:
- Nesmazzda Conflict
- Parmel Invasion
- Silver Station


Singleplayer Map Support added to:
- Battle of Taloraan
- Jundland Wastes
- Nesmazzda Conflict

Gameplay:
- Ryloth tweaks: issue of spawning to death in Rebel tank cave fixed. Sunken droid fixed in Rebel hangar
- Mos Entha Co-Op and SP ticket bleed fixed, no longer favours one side
- Null Sensor Station tower fixed to prevent shields falling through top floor
- Strike at Parmel tickets increased due to player demand
- AI co-op and singleplayer map support enhanced for more complete bot functionality, bots now able to utilise buildings with interiors and more effectively interact with the environment in general


Various bug fixes:
- New Launcher added which addresses some issues with initial installation process, also provides a faster more efficient update facility.
- Python edits leading to better server stability

Question: Can you categorize the soldiers for me (preferably the Rebel Alliance). I checked your soldiers_server.zip file and you have several folders there of different soldiers. Can you please tell me who's what (if you have the time). Thanks D.

Also, I read in the FS site that they'll be doing a stand-alone game using Unreal 4. Will that include you? And will you be continuing FS BF2142?

Welcome to the First strike and BF2142 party! You need to install the BF2142_SP and try that out as well. Frankly, the only reason to buy a copy of the game is to have the disk version. Since EA doesn't sell it anymore, they are not losing money and the downloadable versions work just as well since there is no way to register them and DICE removed the disk check with the 1.5 patch.

Yes, I am working with the Battlecry team. Currently I am trying to help port the FS objects over to the Unreal 4 engine and working on singleplayer focused updated for First Strike.

I am also working on a big update to First Strike to make it a totally single player mod. It will have kits customized to the type of map - Infantry maps will have infantry focused kits, while vehicle kits will have anti-vehicle weapons. This make the game more realistic with bots as they will no longer be running around with rocket launchers on infantry maps. It also will also have the bots using a wider range of weapons. Another bonus is that this will be a good workaround for the issue that playing with an singleplayer account occasionally had the side effect of disabling the weapon customization menu. Many maps from the First Strike Extended (FSX) mod will also be added as well as a new map with singleplayer support that had never been released by the team. Rhen Var Citadel had been on the team's backburner for some time, but it wasn't considered polished enough to be released and with other Rhen Var maps, it wasn't considered a priority. It's palyable as is and so it will be released. Also, since WIP Hoth map was never completed to the point to be releasable, I plan on adding the working ATAT to the FSX Outpost Hoth map just so people can try it out. The ATAT won't be bot useable, but players will be able to get in.
