This was quite popular at another forum I used to visit, before the forum shut down, so it should be fun to start one here. smile.gif Basically all you do is post random screenies of your favorite games. In order to have some well...order... There are some basic rules, which I will reiterate from that other forum (as they made good sense and helped with the flow of the thread).

THREAD RULES:

1) NO PORNOGRAPHIC IMAGES
this includes sexually suggestive images from games like touching in obscene ways, nudity, and or characters boinking one another in general.

2) NO EXCESSIVE GORE
Sure alot of games feature blood, fine, but no completely-colored the entire room-blood baths. No flying limbs and organs, beheadings, and no pictures of Al Gore either.

3) LIMIT OF FIVE PICS PER POST
Lets not overload the thread, give others a chance to post.

4) DO NOT POST MORE PICS UNTIL ONE OTHER USER HAS POSTED to give others opportunity to post pics, and not have any individuals excessively dominate a thread.

5) KEEP PIC SIZES TO A MINIMUM.
Since the focus of this thread will be pics, keep the sizes down so everyone can enjoy the thread (including those with limited bandwidth). 1440 x 900 or less is a good average size to stick to. Please post pics in JPEG format, this is also helpful.

6) NAME THE GAME YOU ARE POSTING PICS FROM.
Important! Someone might want to try the game your showing, and posting the name prevents alot of "What game is that?" posts.

IMAGE HOSTING SITES:

www.photobucket.com
www.tinypic.com
www.imageshack.com

Additional comment: The pics you post don't have to be your own, feel free to post pics from other sources of your fav game, just be sure to credit those who take the pics. smile.gif Post any game, from sports to FPS to RPG to RTS, whatever floats your boat (within the thread rules that is). wink.gif Post ingame character shots, landscape shots, actions shots, whatever impresses you/strikes you from your game.

HOW TO POST PICS:

Some of our users have been having problems figuring out how to post pics, so here is an easy explanation to get you started. smile.gif

Save your image. Preferably in JPEG format. To save in JPEG 'right click' the image, click on "Edit." In the top left corner you click on "File", then "Save As", then go to the bottom where it says "Save as Type" and select "JPEG" and then "Save" on the right.

Now that your image is in the proper format, pick a decent image hosting site to host your image (like the ones listed above). Say for example you choose "Tinypic.com" Using the website you "Browse" to the appropriate location where you pic is and click on it. Then hit "Upload Now" and a captcha screen should appear, just fill in the blanks with the words it shows you and then continue. Links will appear, pick the appropriate link for showing images (which should be surrounded by [img] tags at the front and back of the link line. Right click on that line and select "Copy". Come back to this thread, and then within your post right click and select "Paste". You should then see the link that you copied in your post. Complete your post and then your image should be visible. Hope this helps. smile.gif

Now that all that's out of the way, I'll start. I've really been enjoying BF2142 again now that my PC is behaving. Got the Deluxe Edition and gave my old copy to a brother of mine, the NS maps are a blast to play. Haven't took any pics of NS yet, will post those later.

Some random pics from my Spetsnaz super texture pack that I didn't use for the release promo.

QUOTE (TheObscure)
I like how the red container refracts the red light onto the white container above it! (BF3:Venice Unleashed discussion)

I discovered BF2 does this effect as well! When checking my white gloves in the map "Operation Road Rage" and crawling on the brownish/red wooden roof of the restaurant, I could see the wood color refraction on the white gloves. smile.gif

2142 Revive went online so I gave it a whirl, would be nice if Australia had servers.

I know it's not battle, or destruction oriented game-play, but does anyone out there play Farm Simulator 15 (present version)? I've finally gotten around to playing the darn thing since I've had it for 6 or 7 months now, and holy smokes is it a blast. I mean I installed it, and tried it out when I bought it, but I didn't have the time to learn it because of the usual real life issue we all face everyday, now I'm glad I did; I've even per-ordered version 17, and a new video card.

Corn & Canola waiting to ripen so I can harvest. My New Holland T6 160 tractor with front-end loader,

Loading logs onto Possein Buffalo with T6 160 NH and log fork on front end loader. I can run the crane on the Buffalo, but it's quicker with the front end loader. A full load of logs on the Buffalo, when sold, brings me an average of $90,000 bucks.

Off to sell a load of logs.

The detail in the models is incredible. This is the Deutz-Fhar T7523 TT Warrior, and at 320 HP t's one of my favorites.

Another really kewl New Holland T6 210 TT tractor, again, the detail.

Cutting grass, it takes a lot of horse power to drive these triple Kuhn mowers.

A few more, and more farming oriented. The way to make a lot of money fast is with logging and silage, hence the big investment in logging, and mowing equipment. Once you've paid back the original loan of $100,000 when starting (in normal mode), and banked around a million bucks, you can get serious about buying land and equipment to start raising crops, or animals, to make enough money to sustain a large farm. One must remember a good tractor starts around $250,000, and combine, or harvester, can set you back a half million. Land ain't cheap either, a good field can run up to $300,000, or $400,00 bucks!. With silage and logging I can make $250,000 per day. You sell silage, or fermented grass or corn chaff (whole plant ground up), at the bio gas plant for $1600\ton on average (you have to watch the market for prices), and you have to mow grass, and sow, fertilize, grow, and harvest the corn as chaff, and it takes a special, and expensive, machine to do that. You make more money off the corn that way. Let's put it this way, with a Leibarr front end loader and 6400 bucket (about 3.4 tons) you making $10,300+ per scoop at $1600\ton!

Wind rowing the straw left from harvesting Wheat or Barley. I pick this up with a foraging wagon and sell it for 64 cents a ton. If I had animals, which I don't yet on this farm, I would bail it. The animations are out standing.

From the drivers seat of a NH Combine harvesting corn, before I realized it was better to chaff it.

The combine, under a hired workers control (yeah, AI! and there is a program where you can create and control it too.), is unloading corn into my chase wagon.

Look at the detail in the straw.

This is all the equipment I'm using on a Russian map called Sosnovka, an incredibly beautiful map, and it's for logging and silage with grass. Your looking at just about a million bucks worth, and with it, if I really work hard, I can do a half million a day once cranked up with silage. If you look at my bank account just right of the clock in the upper right hand corner, you can see I'm not doing bad.

Well, not really to be honest. But I reduced the most memory hungry textures, added some sharpening and it still looks quite good!
