This was quite popular at another forum I used to visit, before the forum shut down, so it should be fun to start one here. smile.gif Basically all you do is post random screenies of your favorite games. In order to have some well...order... There are some basic rules, which I will reiterate from that other forum (as they made good sense and helped with the flow of the thread).

THREAD RULES:

1) NO PORNOGRAPHIC IMAGES
this includes sexually suggestive images from games like touching in obscene ways, nudity, and or characters boinking one another in general.

2) NO EXCESSIVE GORE
Sure alot of games feature blood, fine, but no completely-colored the entire room-blood baths. No flying limbs and organs, beheadings, and no pictures of Al Gore either.

3) LIMIT OF FIVE PICS PER POST
Lets not overload the thread, give others a chance to post.

4) DO NOT POST MORE PICS UNTIL ONE OTHER USER HAS POSTED to give others opportunity to post pics, and not have any individuals excessively dominate a thread.

5) KEEP PIC SIZES TO A MINIMUM.
Since the focus of this thread will be pics, keep the sizes down so everyone can enjoy the thread (including those with limited bandwidth). 1440 x 900 or less is a good average size to stick to. Please post pics in JPEG format, this is also helpful.

6) NAME THE GAME YOU ARE POSTING PICS FROM.
Important! Someone might want to try the game your showing, and posting the name prevents alot of "What game is that?" posts.

IMAGE HOSTING SITES:

www.photobucket.com
www.tinypic.com
www.imageshack.com

Additional comment: The pics you post don't have to be your own, feel free to post pics from other sources of your fav game, just be sure to credit those who take the pics. smile.gif Post any game, from sports to FPS to RPG to RTS, whatever floats your boat (within the thread rules that is). wink.gif Post ingame character shots, landscape shots, actions shots, whatever impresses you/strikes you from your game.

HOW TO POST PICS:

Some of our users have been having problems figuring out how to post pics, so here is an easy explanation to get you started. smile.gif

Save your image. Preferably in JPEG format. To save in JPEG 'right click' the image, click on "Edit." In the top left corner you click on "File", then "Save As", then go to the bottom where it says "Save as Type" and select "JPEG" and then "Save" on the right.

Now that your image is in the proper format, pick a decent image hosting site to host your image (like the ones listed above). Say for example you choose "Tinypic.com" Using the website you "Browse" to the appropriate location where you pic is and click on it. Then hit "Upload Now" and a captcha screen should appear, just fill in the blanks with the words it shows you and then continue. Links will appear, pick the appropriate link for showing images (which should be surrounded by [img] tags at the front and back of the link line. Right click on that line and select "Copy". Come back to this thread, and then within your post right click and select "Paste". You should then see the link that you copied in your post. Complete your post and then your image should be visible. Hope this helps. smile.gif

Now that all that's out of the way, I'll start. I've really been enjoying BF2142 again now that my PC is behaving. Got the Deluxe Edition and gave my old copy to a brother of mine, the NS maps are a blast to play. Haven't took any pics of NS yet, will post those later.

Reminds me of AMD Virtual Super Resolution and the Nvidia DSR version. Been wanting to post some BF2 shots of this here but I can't get anything to actually take a final screenshot of the scaled down image. I contacted AMD and they escalated the ticket to an engineer so we might see an option added in ReLive. VSR is great for older games like BF2 as modern systems can take the larger resolution hit no problem. Plus it beats any kind of AA hands down. See why here (its all to do with sample points): https://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/technology/dsr/technology

Took some large screenshots from Overwatch featuring my favorite character. Cool thing is that game itself allows you to take up to 9x larger resolution pictures then your current monitor resolution. So some 17K screenshots saved in BMP format can weight as much as 700mb each! smile.gif

@Sgt_Prof

Kewl, I like. Farming Simulator does the same thing, a 50mg or larger, and in .png format too. I run them through IrfanView and batch resize out putting them as .jpg's before posting

Speaking of ...

I started the new Farming Simulator 17 when it came out end of last year, very nice, and I still work my three farms in version 17 too. Many might ask, Cajunwolf, why such a change? FS is nothing like the Battlefield series. True that, but there are similarities as follows.

A. It's Fully modable, and comes with a fantastic editor.

B. It has a fantastic AI system. You hire workers, which are bots, and they for instance know all the various tractors and implements ect. There is a new mod out called "Course Play" where you can program all kinds of bot activities. For instance you can have bots running two combines in a large field of wheat, and as the bins on the combines get full, they call for a chase cart, or trucks, who then pulls up along side, matches speed, and the combine drivers unload while still harvesting. Now as the chase cart or truck gets full, you have them a course laid out back to the main farm silos, they unload, and return. This is but one example of what you can do.

C. As mentioned above you have a full editor to where you can create maps, mod tractors, and other implements. As for equipment that doesn't come with the game, there are thousands of mods, all free, you can download. Copy them to the mods folder, and they show up in the maps store. You have to buy your farming equipment in game, it's a farm, and it has to make money. It's a very challenging game in this respect, and you actually work your but off, but it's fun. Yeah, weird, but I guess you have to be there.

Here are a few screen shots.

This is "Goldcrest Valley," one of the stock maps that comes with the game, and is set in Colorado. Here I'm cultivating the oilseed radishes into the soil, they were my first stage of fertilizer system, you have to fertilize your crops three time for maximum harvest. With this seeder - planter I'm cultivating, seeding, and fertilizing which chemical fertilizer at the same time. I use spray fertilizer one more time about mid growth for my third pass, then I harvest, store it (cost money), and when the market price is high I sell it off. The chemical fertilizer is expensive, but when your doing silage, and raising cattle you have slurry produced, which is either liquid manure, or fermented liquid waste from fermenting chopped corn for silage, plus the manure which is collected, and each, slurry and manure, need different implements to haul and spread it. Anyhow this particular tractor has 420 hp with 380 dbhp (draw-bar horsepower), and the combo seeder requires 350 dbhp so I'm cutting it close, but there are no hills to climb. My big HP tractors are tied up elsewhere. This combo set me back about $450,000.

Another shot where you can see the field better, it's about 9 acres I think.

Here's one of my big boys, Challenger Stealth 650 HP pulling my new Standford 12 meter Mold Board Plow which pulls every bit of 500 DBHP.

Closeup of the animation, looks much better in RL, you can see the soil turning.

From above you can see how much of a swath it plows, takes less time to plow, and therefore less cost. That's $425, 000 of tractor, and $38,000 in plow, but they pay off fairly fast.

Each time you hire a worker (you gotta pay per/hour like in RL) the game throws in a random character to occupy the drivers seat. This time I got a cute blond. Notice the detail in the tractor, and yes they do get dirty so you have to clean them with a steam cleaner ($600) because you loose money if you don't keep up with maintenance.
