This would be for those who enjoy the simpler BFP4F gameplay, with fewer kit choices, but better weapons without having to buy anything. BFP4F uses mostly BF2 weapons, vehicles and statics, so conversion should be fairly easy. The special items would probably be the coolest things to port over, if possible. Anyway this would need to be sp/coop focused, because anyone that wanted to play multiplayer, could just go online.
As far as doing map only conversions, so far, the only map that would be worth converting would be the new Basra/Downtown map. I was able to bring it up in the editor and it looks fine. It uses Bf2 objects, so there is no conversion needed for BFP4F statics. Most of those BF2 objects have AImeshes for navmeshing. I don't really see a point in doing a map only conversion for the other maps. The BFP4F vehicles are based on BF2 - some with woodland camo patterns - but some are the xpack vehicles that don't have working AI. For sp/coop, the spawns and some cps will need to be moved for bot access. So, it would be easier just to stay with the existing BFSP created AI for the maps. Just remove the commander stuff from the map. So, other than not having commander stuff and possibly some different vehicles, as well as the special items, it's the same as bf2. I would recommend doing the conversion as a mod. That way the gameplay can be made more like BFP4F. I would probably make it an AIX mod to take advantage of all the vehicles with the finetuned AI. It would be easy enough to create some BFP4F kits. I would not worry about the skill sets, at least not unless there was a huge interest in the mod. The special items would have to be looked into. Someone at the BF2editor site released his converted weapons, so that may be an option. Another option would be to port the game as a mod of conflict 2142, since CF2142 has a lot of the BF2 statics and some BF2 map conversions allready done. BF2142 may be able to handle some special item conversions that BF2 can't -------------------- No, my Avatar is not my dog.

I just noticed that in this tutorial from Clive about navmesh transplants from 6 years ago, it referred to a Temple. This looks like the same temple in the P4F map trail. Bob and I created Aimeshes for all the objects in the map, including the temple.

I actually made a separate thread dedicated to discussing Rush mode, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe it got deleted? I took a peek around and appearantly you created that thread in BF2/BF2142/BF3/yaddayaddayadda general discussion. Moved it in here for you. -------------------- A man falls out of a tenth-story window. As he lands, another man rushes over and asks, "What happened?" The fallen man exclaims, "I don't know. I just got here myself!"

thansk for those pics. You computer seems to run at much better resolution than mine, so its nice to see those turned out pretty good looking. Well except that saiaga mag with no shotgun shells in it. I guess I could fix that later.
